Jacs

Jacs is one of my parents favourite places to eat a casual dinner out. Relatively close to home, nice local feeling and really really good food! I came along to have tapas one night which was one of those perfect casually hanging out with your parents that makes you feel like you are 12 years old again nights.

Crusty French stick, dip and marinated Manzilla Olives ($15)

Duck and cabbage spring rolls with dipping sauce ($14)

Chickpea, haloumi, soft herb and tomato salad ($12) & special broad bean, potato warm salad ($12).

Calamari with chilli shallot and aioli ($16)

A bit of an all over the place selection of dishes, but it was all really good. I don’t like broad beans, but the warm salad was amazing and had my mum questioning my protestations for the last 22 years. The aioli with the calamari could have used a bit more kick in my opinion. But I really loved the spring rolls (in a totally un-authentic way) the sauce was really yummy!

Passionfruit souffle with cream anglaise ($14)

The best thing about eating out with mum and dad is that they always encourage me to have dessert. Where on my own I would probably go “I’m not really that hungry” “I’ll use that money for my next meal” or something along those lines, Mum and Dad are like “If you want it go for it!!”. Well thank you, I don’t mind if I am persuaded into finishing my meal with PASSIONFRUIT SOUFFLE!!!

This was perfect beyond anything. That is all I have to say.
