The Attic
Making our way down to Fremantle for brunch yesterday, we settled around one end of the big table upstairs in The Attic. This place is amazing. The atmosphere, the location, the sounds, and dim lighting, the B&W abstract architectural photography by Meleah Farrell (right along the lines of my study at uni this semester) the stacks of old suitcases, and table letters instead of numbers (we had K for koala) are enough to make me come back again and again even. And then we got our food.
OH MY GOD THIS IS MY NEW FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT!!! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!

Traditional Shakshouka ($14)
My brunch partners both got the traditional shakshouka, baked eggs with amazing spicy tomato sauce, topped with baby spinach, ricotta and a side of tasty grilled bread. Served in an iron pan, it was hot, had great texture, really fresh ingredients and was so moreish - I was suffering a major case of dish-envy!!

That is, until I got my granola.
My first bite had a whole brazil nut!! The yoghurt was so tangy and cooling after my bite of shakshouka, and the berry and apricot compote was to die for, adding little punches of flavour to each scoop. And do you know what I will add to my daily cereal from now on, MINT LEAVES! (readers may or may not be aware of my obsession with mint… it’s kind of my little piece of heaven)

Granola topped with berries, apricot and natural yoghurt ($10.95)

The Good: Hidden away, nostalgic charm and fresh, tasty food
The Bad: The fact I have never been here before!
The Money: Very good for filling breakfasts
