Zapata’s (Northbridge)

Pineapple Pina Colada ($6)
Landing in Northbridge looking for a bite before taking on Rooftop Movies. We were initially set on pancakes for dinner, but the place was closed for re-furb. Which was annoying, I was ready for some irresponsible eating-dessert-for-dinner-because-I’m-a-grown-up-now-and-can-make-unhealthy-but-fun-choices-if-I-want-to-haha-Mum!.
So anyway we shifted the focus of our stomachs to Zapata’s, a suitably kitsch Mexican restaurant just across the road.
The Thursday special was $6 Pina Colada’s with any meal. My dining buddy took advantage of this, ordering a pineapple one (there was on option for strawberry which we thought was super weird!)

Single Beef Fajita ($26.30)
She also got the Beef Fajita. A selection of beef, and cooked onion and capsicum on a hot plate (which was hardly ‘sizzling’) corn salsa, grated cheese and lettuce, with chilli sauce and sour cream. It was a decent serving size, but hardy amazing food, it’s cool to put your own wraps together, but the meat was quite tough, and the other additions hardy amazing.

Supreme Nachos + Villa on top ($14.40)
My nachos were ok. The guacamole was nice and tangy, but there was hardly any of it. The chilli con carne topping was tasty, but again the whole serving was pretty small. I don’t know why I always order nachos, because the bottom layers of mushy corn chips always disappoint me; luckily there was a generous serve of sour cream to cut through the mush a little.

This is probably good for a big group of people getting together, but if you are really concerned about great quality food, look elsewhere.

The Good:  Outdoor dining in lovely Perth spring weather
The Bad: Mushy corn chips and small servings
The Money: Low value really
