Monday night sees 11 of us saying farewell to an adventurous friend before she departed on an exciting exchange trip for at least 6 months. Where else to gather but The Moon for discount, massive meals.

We took out usual tactic of sharing a couple of dishes between 4 of us. I was craving fried food, so the big bowl of fries ($6.50) was my choice. I have previously always gone for the wedges, and probably will in the future. The fries were ok, but got cold really quickly, so we only really finished half the bowl. The aioli was very tasty though.

Just about our favourite ever pasta dish - the Chilli Prawn Spaghetti ($11.95) - has never disappointed, and lived up to our expectations once again. They are never stingy with the prawns, and the spice is quite decent.

The Chicken Pizza ($11.95) with chicken, bacon, red onion, roasted capsicum and mushrooms was super tasty. The pizzas at the Moon are always really nice and fresh tasting, no yucky pre-prepared ingredients. It’s the kind of pizza you eat and feel (kind of) good about!

Lastly we indulged in a bit of dessert. The Chocolate Dessert Pizza is doused in chocolate syrup, mascarpone cheese, walnuts, with a big dollop of ice cream on top. We shared it between about 8 of us, and was the perfect end to a very tasty dinner.

The Moon is a great place to hang out, the chilled vibe is perfect for moving tables around to accommodate a large group. You can be loud and boisterous, or hide in the dimly lit corners and whisper. And cheap Monday and Tuesdays are the BOMB!!
